The organization focuses on the causes of cancer and not the cure -- seeking to prevent and educate around precautionary lifestyle practices for a healthier life.

Through MCP,s efforts to investigate the causes of cancer and educate the public on healthy lifestyle choices, the organization strives to create a healthier environment and ultimately reduce cancer rates. We are working to document and share our processes to enable other grassroots community groups to mobilize in similar ways. Efforts by the Marin Cancer Project can be replicated nationally to benefit everyone, everywhere.

Through the door-to-door survey campaigns, 85,000 surveys were distributed to Marin households out of a total 100,000 households. Teens make up a significant percentage of Marin Cancer Project volunteers.
