Search for the Cause - We just might stop cancer if we can find out why it starts

Education

Search for the Cause seeks to Educate

As a means of working toward healthy and sustainable communities, SFTC seeks, first and foremost, to educate. Our greatest tool is the Precautionary Principle which states that when something may pose a risk to environmental or personal health, even if a direct cause-and-effect relationship has yet to be scientifically verified, we need to work together to prevent the harm before it happens. In simple terms, better safe than sorry.

Ways we can impact our lives

As we think about the ways in which we can make change in our own lives, we will share the enormous collection of common information, data, research, science and wisdom about what we already know that contributes to health risks. ( link to precautionary practices)

We want to give our community actions that they can take. Through education, and thoughtful purchasing, we hope our community will embrace a healthier way of life. As a community we CAN change the world

The Formal Definition of the Precautionary Principle

“When an activity raises threats of harm to the environment or human health, precautionary measures should be taken even if some cause and effect relationships are not fully established scientifically.”

— Wingspread Statement
on the Precautionary Principle
January 1998.
